An inner-city girls’ school in East London has welcomed the New Year by piloting a new mobile learning scheme, which could revolutionise the way knowledge is delivered in the classroom.

The new Ko-Su mobile learning platform is currently being tested in-class on iPod Touches, within the science department of Central Foundation Girls’ School in Bow, Tower Hamlets.

Developed by Zuztertu, a London-based company which creates educational mobile applications, the Ko-Su solution allows teachers to tailor lessons to students’ individual needs and capabilities. It also allows for teacher-pupil interaction to occur outside the classroom.

Having begun in December, the scheme will run until February and may then be tested in other London schools. Zuztertu hopes this new platform will boost results in under-performing schools, transforming the way curriculum is delivered in the classroom.
